Community investment awards presented at banquet

The Greenville Board of Development/4A Corporation took time Thursday to thank the developers behind two of the city’s biggest recent economic projects.

Members of the Board presented the 2016 Community Development Awards during Thursday’s Greenville Chamber/Board of Development Annual Banquet to Triyar Properties and the Stainback Organization.

Triyar was responsible for the development of the Greenville Promenade Shopping Center — the former Crossroads Mall at 6834 Wesley Street — investing more than $11 million in the center which includes Marshalls, Rue 21, Ross Dress For Less, JC  Penney, Staples, Beall’s, Belk, Hibbett Sports, Petco and Encore Shoes. A building currently under construction will house a Helzberg Diamonds, an AT&T store and a cookie bakery.

The Stainback Organization was behind the development of the Kari Beth Crossing Shopping Center, which in the past year has added an Academy Sports & Outdoors and a Hobby Lobby, as well as a Chipotle restaurant and a Smoothie King, for a total investment of more than $10 million.

Triyar President Bob Yari and Kent Stainback with the Stainback Organization were on hand to receive their awards.
